Dr. Smith manages YSI’s Integrated Systems and Services and has worked in technology development for over 20 years. As a trained microbiologist and biochemist, her work with harmful algal blooms and algal toxins led her to a deep understanding of water quality issues. At YSI she has been involved in sensor development and oversees product offerings that integrate diverse technologies into water quality monitoring systems. Dr. Smith thrives at the interface of commercial strategy, research and development, and product marketing and management, enjoying nothing more than learning from YSI’s customers about the challenges they face and how we can find solutions together.


Dr. Xue Fan joined SonTek in 2015 as part of the Technical Support Group, offering on-call field support and training for customers operating ADCP instrumentation around the world. She later assumed the role of Application Engineer, and now works as part of the Product Management team. As part of her role, Dr. Fan performs field testing on SonTek’s newest instrument developments, and collaborates with the world’s leading hydrologic and oceanographic agencies to ensure product development aligns with the need of the water monitoring and research communities. She has a Doctorate in Physical Oceanography from Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and Bachelors in Physics and Atmospheric/Oceanic Sciences from McGill University (Canada), She speaks English, Chinese and French.

Dr. Nate Bosch is the Director of Lilly Center for Lakes & Streams and is a professor in the environmental science program at Grace College. As an expert in limnology, he has 18 peer-reviewed publications spanning research in the Great Lakes to smaller inland lakes and streams. In his spare time, Dr. Bosch and his family of five enjoy exploring the outdoors and traveling together.

Adrienne Daeger, Lilly Center Program Specialist
Adrienne Daeger is the research program specialist at the Lilly Center. She leads a student research team, designs program operations, and analyzes and communicates data to the public. She received her bachelor's degree in biology and environmental science from Huntington University in Indiana, which included two summers of classes at the Au Sable Institute for Environmental Studies in Mancelona, MI. Her favorite part of her job is communicating lakes and streams research to the community.

Kyle Kaminski – Xylem Analytics Regional Representative
Kyle Kaminski is entering his 10th year at Xylem, where he provides sales and support for customers who require water quality and/or water flow instrumentation to solve unique environmental challenges. A lifelong outdoor enthusiast with a Master’s degree in Biology, the most rewarding part of his job is the relationships built with customers while helping them to monitor the environment and ultimately make it a better place.
